I liked the emphasis on inner work that leads to outer mission focus.

What was helpful early on was the sense of community and family that this cohort was to one another...That sense of being loved right where you were, especially as I was wrestling with all sorts of feelings that I didn’t measure up as a church planter and pastor.

This cohort will put the Bible on its feet, inviting those who love Scripture to deeply consider its performance genres.

This study aims to empower leaders who will teach perspicuity, as Eugene Peterson explained it- “the conviction that the Bible is basically readable as it is. It is not a body of secret lore accessible only to an academic elite.”

We expect the cohort to include preachers, worship leaders, and scholars with gifts in the arts. Together we will learn to reclaim the action and orality that was lost when the Bible became a “book.”

This cohort builds on the conviction of the pastor as a spiritual guide inspired by the Holy Spirit, seeking to equip ministry leaders to assist others in knowing, loving, and serving God more fully.

Through biblical, theological, and historical reflection and regular engagement with spiritual practices, we will examine how various individuals and movements across the history of the church have experienced and sought to nurture their relationship with the Triune God.

This cohort recognizes the critical need for creating a supportive community of disciples learning and journeying together.  The final project will be grounded in the student’s ministry setting and integrate cohort readings, spiritual practices, class discussions, and experiences.

This cohort creates space and time necessary for leaders to develop the concepts and seek the habits, skills, and practices necessary for leading a ministry of people with all abilities and at all life stages, especially adolescence.

The primary focus of this program is to develop a better understanding of youth ministry in the U.S., advance a contextualized practical theology of youth ministry, and to work out the implications of both for Christian youth ministry. We seek to build a cohort with women and men whose research interests intersect in meaningful ways such that deep and rich lifelong conversation partnerships and friendships are cultivated.

I had no idea how formational the D.Min. program was going to be in my own life and in the day-to-day activities of my ministry context.
The work I am doing translates so well to the daily problems I face in ministry and has helped me develop the thoughts and skills necessary to navigate a practical spirituality of fundraising.
